Movie Thursdays: Despicable Me

When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds their love is profoundly changing him for the better.

I thought there will be more of those little yellow creatures... But oh well. It's still a nice story with a nice ending :)

Button Rack

Hello everyone! How about making yourself a nice button rack for your necklaces and bracelets?! :)

I was inspired to make this kind of a project when I saw similar projects on Pinterest. But instead of using old cabinet knobs, I used buttons!

Let's get started!

You need:

 - a desk
 - buttons from Lots of buttons (EmelineBellHellen and Portia)
 - bottle corks
 - rope

1. Start with painting the desk you are going to use. I'm in love with the combination of dark blue and white, so this is my version.

The white frame should be cracked.... Yeah right. Not with an 100 years old cracking varnish...

2. And then figure out the layout.
I wanted a part just for bracelets, to the one that has the least space is for them, the others are reserved for long necklaces :)

3. Glue the buttons on the bottle corks (paint them before, if needed).

4. And then you just want to hang the rack somehow. I made a braid and glue it on the back side.

5. Decorate as you wish and you are done! :)

How do you display your necklaces? :) Would you make something like this? :)

Movie Thursdays: Sin City

A film that explores the dark and miserable town, Basin City, and tells the story of three different people, all caught up in violent corruption.

Now this movie is probably one of my favorites! The photography is like as you were reading the comic and the stories are all so interesting. Sexy ladies, guns, blood, disgusting yellow man and the color red....you have it all!

The second part is coming this year and I know it's going to be very good!

Paper boxes

Hello everyone!
Let's make some boxes!
I have tons of pattern paper and I need some ideas what to do out of it. So yeah, here is a small and cute box, perfect for a small attention gift for someone you care about :)
Start with the box lid...The template is mine, so the measures are a bit strange, but I made it by using another box... trust me? :D The starting square is 20,3 x 14 cm, if it helps.

When you cut the template and transfer it to the paper, fold the edges and glue the rightmost and the leftmost part.

 Then just fold everything together.

You should get it like this :)

Now the box...my super-duper template is here...Cut and make the edges.

Glue the 2 bottom parts together and apply the double sided tape to the far bellow part and glue it together.

And if you don't like the bottom, you can glue a square on it.

Fold the parts in, and the last should be the longest.

Viola! You are almost complete! Just fill the box and decorate as you wish :)

Oh, got to go. Two hard exams are waiting for me this week! Wish me luck!

Movie Thursdays: The Help

An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African-American maids' point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis.

A touching story about the life that was lived just 50 years from now. I just hated all those white ''ladies'', well not all, I liked Celia Foote and Skeeter of course.

Magnetic Book Cover

Hello everyone!
It's so beautiful outside, but every now and then there is a rainy day and because I don't want to study for the last exams this year, I like to spend my time with making some projects.

For this one I got the idea of making my own magnetic book cover based on the magnetic cover I have at home.
I didn't know how I would make it, so I just experimented a bit. And I encountered on some problems ... more about them in the tutorial.. :)

You'll need:
- cardboard (thick and strong)
- glue
- magnet
- piece of metal

Start with the box where you'll put the book or a diary. Make it a bit bigger than the book.

Continue with making the cover. Use a stronger cardboard.
For the shape of it is optional. It can be without the little semicircle. Just make sure that you'll have the place to insert the magnet.

Then just decorate as you wish. I used some napkins, which was a bad idea because of the soft cardboard (...), but it still turned out good.

And there you have it! I'm pretty sure that you can make some smaller covers, maybe suitable for a bag? :)

Let me know what you think :)

And enjoy the sunny days outside! :)

Movie Thursdays: Chico and Rita

Chico is a young piano player with big dreams. Rita is a beautiful singer with an extraordinary voice. Music and romantic desire unites them, but their journey - in the tradition of the Latin ballad, the bolero - brings heartache and torment.

One of my favorite animated films. The story is so interesting that you just wish to find out what happens next. And I really like the animation.

Button Brooch

Hello button lovers!

Yes, it's another tutorial with some buttons from Lots of buttons  - a brooch!

Now this tutorial is, again, super easy!

Just buy the brooch attachment at your local craft store and glue it on the back of the button (if you think you need to cut the shank, do it).

Buttons used: Jean and Carolyne.

I really like the results and because there are a lot of buttons to choose from I know that every each of them would make a great brooch!

Busy, busy holidays...

Flower Spring 2013 HD Wallpaper

Hello everyone!

First, I'm sorry I forgot to post Movie Thursdays yesterday, but I was so busy with all the things I have to do during these holidays before my last month of school. I can't wait for summer holidays, or should I say London!

I'm so happy that spring finally came and that there is a lot more sunny days like today! I really have to get a tan, because there is a wedding coming up next Saturday and I've already bought a nice dress, but I still need to get rid of my ''imaginary'' T-shirt that is all white on me right now, because I've been on the sun for 7 hours counting traffic...
So, if you can imagine, I really have sleeves and a neck line all white, but the rest is tanned! I look silly!

But still, I have a lot of time to work on some projects for school and for myself. I'm thinking what to do next for my DIY projects, but I didn't think of anything yet. YET. However, be patient because my next projects for Lots of buttons are coming very quickly!

Wow, this post is really different for the others.. I know I usually don't talk this much...Oh well, it's time for some changes :)

Oh, and could you please comment below what do you think of my blog :) I really want some feedback on how I'm doing all this blogging thing... :)

Thank you! Have a great day!
