Happy Birthday to Me!

I'm 18!

I feel the same...Ok, no, I confess I'm pretty exited about it! :D

Because I'm quite small, like 160cm (maybe a cm below :D), no one believed I'm becoming an adult.
But come on, would you believe a small, baby-faced girl with braces? ...But facts are facts, so hello ''adulthood''! :D

On the picture are me, my brother and my Big Teddy Bear, that I got from my Dad exactly 18 years ago :) Supeeer Cute! :D

Cheers!

Maybe someday :D

Button Rings III

I really fell in love with making rings, but I promise I'm going to take a break making them for a while now :D

These are also from Lots of buttons, but are a bit different from the others. It wasn't that easy to make them. They had a big hole in the back, so I needed to fix that.

With what? Fimo of course :D

Here two buttons here are called Glenna and Latosha.

Cut and sand the back of the button first.

Take a matching coloured Fimo and push it really good on the back.
Make sure it's flat and carefully take it out. Then just put it in the oven as it says on the packaging.

When that's done, simply glue it on the back, and on top of that glue the ring base :)

Check out my first and second tutorial on button rings.

Movie Thursdays: Five Easy Pieces

A drop-out from upper-class America picks up work along the way on oil-rigs when his life isn't spent in a squalid succession of bars, motels, and other points of interest.

Jack Nicholson! Now he is a legend! Love his look, his way of moving, his smile. And because of his great acting he became a star :)
A must see if you like Jack Nicholson and want to see an interesting way to pick up girls :D

Say hello to Janie!

Damn I like anchors! And I just couldn't resist when I saw Janie
It's a metal button with a brass look. I know, I should have used a brass ring base, but they don't sell it at my local craft shop...Oh well :)

I hope spring will be here soon!

I really do! Now it is snowing like crazy and even though I'm born in January, I really don't like snow. Spring is my favourite time of year and I can't wait for it! :) Especially for the longer and warmer days! I'm freezing right now! Ok, I'll stop whining...

Oh, I cannot forget about the flowers :) I like them very much :) And because there aren't any flowers outside, I made a little piece of spring for the house :)

First, cut and paint small flowers :) I like blue, so blue was my pick, but you can make purple, red, yellow, violet or anything you want :D

With pins, colourful or normal silver, start in the middle and work your way up :)

And that's it :) It looks great on a candlestick or you can leave it like so :)

Movie Thursdays: Aladdin

Aladdin, a street urchin, accidentally meets Princess Jasmine, who is in the city undercover. They love each other, but she can only marry a prince.

My favorite Disney movie!
Now who hadn't watch Aladdin?! It's one of the best Disney movies and I think everybody should watch it :)
And don't think you are too old for this, I don't think you can get too old for this :)

Lovely button rings!

And here it is! The DIY project containing my beautiful buttons from Lots Of Buttons!

As you all know, I won a voucher on a contest on Cut out and Keep for this wonderful site.

I picked 20 different buttons for one reason. I won with button rings, but now I want more of them! So ... I made rings out of buttons! And I think I've picked well :)

Let’s see how I made them!

Here I used:
- buttons Erlinda, JanieRikki, Mazie, Layne, Elza, MilagroBethany and Misty
- silver ring base
- pliers
- sand paper
- super glue

First, I cut the back of the button, and if that was needed, sanded it a bit.

Figure out how you want the ring pattern to be. After that I added some super glue (E6000 would be the best) on the ring base, which I bought in a local craft store, and glued these two together.

And that's it! It cannot get any simpler. I hope you like it as much as I do! I'm really in love with them.

And every Monday I'll be posting one ring at the time, so you'll get a closer look at them :)

Movie Thursdays: The Perks of being a Wallflower

An introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors who welcome him to the real world.

You probably know the novel by Stephen Chbosky? Well I must confess, I haven't read the book, but I'm sure I will one day!

The movie shows ups and downs of a young man growing up. Love, loss, fear and hope are the main themes in this drama. But the main question is how important is to have friends.

Definitely a must-see for all!

Small Peek...

Say hello to my little Piggy!

Yes, he lost his ear a looong time ago. I don't even know when I got him or how... He just was there :D

Movie Thursday: Into the Wild

After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.

Free of society? Now that's a bit crazy? Or is it?
It's a good question to discuss.
I really recommend it to all of you, because you might think about everything a bit different.
And I'm sure the last quote will trigger thoughts

Tea boxes!

I've bough these very cute wooden boxes for 2€ and I've simply decorated it with some napkins both on the inside as on the outside :)

And yes...that locker is broken..that's what you get for 2€...oh well at least you can still store tea :)
